Description

This exquisite set of two vintage Japanese Arita porcelain bowls comes from the renowned Seizan Kiln (聖山窯). Each piece is marked on the base with the authentic blue square seal featuring the word "ARITA" and the Japanese characters for Seizan, which translates to "Sacred Mountain."

Artistry & Design:
These bowls are a beautiful example of the Imari style, featuring a hand-painted center of vibrant orange chrysanthemums (kiku), a traditional Japanese symbol of longevity and autumn. The floral motif is elegantly framed within a deep blue hexagonal panel, surrounded by delicate underglaze blue and white (Sometsuke) floral scrollwork.

Craftsmanship:
Made in the historic pottery town of Arita, Japan, during the late 20th century, these pieces showcase the high-quality, lightweight, and translucent white porcelain that the region is world-famous for.
